EMS on AIR

In this episode, Dr. McGraw begins with a continuation of his thoughts on the extension and the need to avoid complacency with our PPE.  Then, he presents the notion that even though COVID numbers are going down in states like Michigan, that doesn’t mean the numbers in your community will necessarily be going down.  In fact, this virus may not have made it to your geographic area yet, and it still may.  After that, we discuss what it will take to get back to a “pre-COVID” EMS protocols world and what that even means.  That leads us into a lesson on what it’s going to take to get herd immunity, which hopefully, comes from a very effective vaccine.  Then, we dive deeper into main topic of this episode, the vaccination development process, all the associated nuances and hurdles that each virus species presents, why it seems to take so long to develop vaccines, and what to expect as more and more of them work their way through the testing and validation process and reveal to what degree the resulting antibodies have at protecting us from COVID-19.
